5 Rules to follow if trying to incorporate language practice in a busy New Yorker life:
1. Listen to music to and fro work/school in the language that is being practice (French & Arabic in my case)
2. Watch at least one movie per month (preferably once a week or every two weeks, I just don’t have the time for more!)
3. Listen to audio book 10-15 mins a day (stories, but some news podcasts work too, though for this to really take affect, one must read along and have visual transcript while hearing the words)
4. Practice conversing with anybody in any form from chatting online with random language learners to friends who may be natives of that country (if you’re lucky enough your hubby) to even talking to yourself at times J
5. Write. Every day. What to write? Keep a journal and write what you basically did for that day…highlight & stressing moments, etc.
